Sept 11-15

Trailmaster Agenda: Pismo Beach/Oceano Dunes

March 24-27, 2005
Trailmaster: Terry Crawford

This 3,600 acre off road area is among the most popular and unique of California State Parks. The 5 ½ miles of beach open for vehicle use and the 1,500 acres of sand dunes available for off highway motor vehicle recreation are attractions for visitors from throughout the United States.

UPDATE 3/21/05:
According to the weather report, it is supposed to be nice on Saturday and Sunday, with just a few showers on Friday. Beware though, the river crossing is high, so please moniter the tides to not hit the crossing at high tide. At high tide, you will not be able to cross the river. For Friday, low tide is about 3:30PM and 3:30 AM. Check tide Info here

We are leaving on Thurday afternoon from Salinas at about 1:00pm. Once there, depending on the weather, we will find a great camping location. If you are coming, once you have crossed the river, or if you have problems doing so, please give us a call and we will tell you where we are as cell phones do work on the beach. We will also be on CB channel 15.

We are planning on staying until sometime on Sunday and then heading home. If you have any questions, you can contact myself, or Terry Crawford, the trailmaster.

Thanks!
Amy Pereira
