About

Take a break from the technical stuff and join us for β€œStop and Smell the Roses” – a laid-back overland adventure in the beautiful Sierra Nevada. This trip is all about enjoying the journey: scenic forest roads, easy trails, good fishing, and quality time camping with fellow club members.

Perfect for those who want to get out and explore without the stress of extreme obstacles.

Itinerary

  • Monday 6/22 – Arrive at Sand Flat Campground.
  • Tuesday 6/23 – Leavitt Lake for overnight camping and fishing. Elevation at the lake is 10,000 feet β€” expect cold temperatures overnight. The trail to the lake is moderate; any rig should be able to make it. Each rig is asked to bring a bit of firewood so we have a decent fire for the night.
  • Wednesday 6/24 – Return to Sand Flat Campground.
  • Thursday 6/25 – Day around Sand Flat Campground for fishing and exploring. Fishing contest for the biggest fish! Trail omelettes and roasted potatoes for breakfast, potluck style. Potluck taco dinner in the evening.
  • Friday 6/26 – Niagara Rim Trail. Rated 6, moderate with some challenging obstacles along the way (bypasses available).
  • Saturday 6/27 – Open day, no plans.
  • Sunday 6/28 – End of run.
