Trailmaster Agenda: Fordyce Creek Trail

September 30 through October 3, 2004

This trail is one of the three trails the Annual Sierra Trek is run on. This being the short wheel base trail and most difficult. Some people feel this trail is more difficult then the Rubicon. There are several deep water crossings, in fact during the Sierra Trek P.G.& E. slows the water flow for the event. There all no less the five areas which can be a challenge to climb, labeled in the Sierra Trek as Winch hills 1 through 5. This trail is definitely only for experienced drivers. Most people take around 4 to 6 hours to reach Summit City at Meadow Lake.

FACILITIES AVAILABLE FOR: Developed. All sites have electrcity and water. RV sites have full hookups with sewage. Facilities
TYPE AND DIFFICULTY OF TERRAIN: Very difficult. This trail is rated as a 10 out of 10. Expect rocks, rocks and more rocks with a few deep water crossings in between.
GOOD FOR VEHICHLE TYPE: Short wheel base rigs, 33" tires or larger, skid plates and a least one locker. Suspension and/or body lift is recomended. Expect some body damage if you don't have clearance and a locker. (See what happens if you don't)
